PR Islamabad - Hisham Malik, an emerging name in the fashion industry, launched his ready to wear line, Zirah, at Labels Islamabad.

Zirah, which literally translates to armour in Urdu, is a contemporary semi-formal line of clothing with a clear western aesthetic. Through this line, the designer focuses on strong and modern women who desire structured, unique, and well-constructed clothing that matches international pret-a-porter standards.

To commemorate the occasion a red carpet event was organised at Labels. Several notables as well as the general public graced the occasion. The focus of the occasion was to display the midseason collection of the brand that will be available for retail. The offering consisted of a myriad of jackets, kimonos, caps, shirting, dresses, tops and trousers in unique and various styles. The pieces were designed as separate to offer multiple pairing options to the customers to suit their individual taste and body shape. The embellishment style was modern and contemporary but relied on essentially traditional techniques that appropriately exemplified the brand’s east-west fusion aesthetic. The attention to detail and construction was evident in each garment.

Hisham Malik presented his collection earlier this year at Pakistan Fashion Design Council’s fashion week as a part of the rising talent segment. The design inspiration for the collection came from a series of interviews that the designer personally conducted with successful working women in Pakistan as well as Japanese Samurai armour to mirror the name of the brand.

Malik garnered a strong positive response for its feminine yet dramatic cuts and detailing.
