Our Minister for Tourism should take strong note of the decision taken by the administration of the national carrier banning male members of the cabin crew from growing long beards. Pakistan International Airlines being the first point of contact for the “millions” of tourists visiting our heaven on earth tourist attractions, the first image they should get should be in line with our new tourism policy. Apart from long beards, the airhostesses should be ordered to wear burqas on all domestic and international flights. Same rules should also be applicable for the ground staff male and female members. Ministry of Tourism should also plan to set up selling points for burqas at all entry points in the country for the foreign female tourists and a rule to confiscate any shaving kits at the customs from any male tourist entering the country. These steps for sure will go a long way in furthering the cause of attracting “more” tourists to Pakistan.
