Rawalpindi - The three police officials, including Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Wah Saddar Tariq Mehmood Gondal, who are suspend on charges of patronising criminals and having strong links with drug mafia, gamblers and flesh traders, have been charge-sheeted.

City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi tasked SSP (Operations) Karamat Ullah Malik to hold inquiry against the three cops and submit report with the CPO Office within two days. The other two cops included head constable Safdar and constable Abrar Gulzar.

According to sources, CPO Israr Abbasi charge-sheeted former SHO PS Wah Saddar Tariq Mehmood Gondal along with two cops and ordered SSP (Operations) Karamat Ullah Malik to launch a detailed inquiry into the matter and furnish his report. Tariq Gondal along with his close aides was allegedly staying at a local hotel on the GT Road where prostitution and gambling den was opened.  

They said that Tariq Mehmood Gondal, SI and former SHO, have strong links with criminal gangs, drug peddlers, including Juma Khan, gamblers and crooks of prostitution dens.

The unstopped and secret corruption of SI Tariq came into notice of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja who later verified the information through his sources. The RPO while addressing a police darbar spoke about the police officers, including SI Tariq Mehmood Gondal and asked CPO to initiate departmental action against the corrupt cops.

Taking action, CPO Israr Abbasi suspended SI Tariq along with Safdar and Abrar Gulzar. Sources said that the criminals, gamblers, drug peddlers and flesh traders were on rampage in Wah Saddar allegedly with support of SI Tariq Gondal. CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, when contacted, confirmed the development. He said that the things would be cleared after completion of inquiry against the three officials.
