MIRPUR (AJK)-AJK chief secretary Sikander Jalal Raja has assured the entrepreneurs of the provision of facilities for speedy industrial progress in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Chairing a meeting of the state-run Industrial Development Board, the chief secretary appreciated the business community of AJK and assured his full support to address the issues related to taxation, electricity loadshedding, industrial estate and the private-public partnership on various development projects.

Secretary Industries Ghulam Bashir Mughal briefed the Chief Secretary about the current challenges faced by the Industry in AJK. The meeting was attended among others by President Chamber Ch Sohaib Saeed, officials of the Industrial Development Board, Col (r) Shiraz Ahmed and Ch Muhammad Saeed. The matters related to the emergence of a mega form/estate for livestock and related businesses were also discussed. Proposed easy financing from banks for SMEs was also discussed. A follow-up meeting was scheduled to be held a month after to review the progress of the decision taken in the meeting. AJKCCI President Ch Sohaib Saeed suggested various new policies to attract local and foreign investment in the trade and industrial sector in AJK.
