LAHORE - Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Major General Umar Farooq Burki visited forward locations along Working Boundary and International border in Sialkot and Narowal Sectors yesterday, said a spokesman.

On his arrival, the DG was given a comprehensive briefing on security and other operational/training aspects. During the visit, Maj Gen Burki commended the alertness, professional skills and high morale of Rangers troops performing the duties in the face of all odds.

He highlighted that Rangers have a rich history of bravery and professionalism, and the force is committed to maintain the same with all its efforts and abilities. “It is an honour to command the custodians of sacred frontiers, who are symbol of national pride and unity,” the DG Rangers said.

During his visit to different posts, Burki interacted with valiant Rangers Jawans and acknowledged their services.

At the culmination of visit, the director general reiterated and instructed the troops to take all possible measures in guarding the Pakistan’s frontiers. “As border guarding force, Pakistan Rangers Punjab remains committed towards secured Working Boundary and International Border,” he said in his address to the troops.
