LAHORE - As many as 10,000 personnel of police force and 10 units of Quick Response Force (QRF) will be deployed at various points to ensure peace and security during the Eidul Azha. Additional Capital City Police Officer Lahore DIG (Operations) Rao Sardar Ali Khan has directed the police officials to devise a comprehensive plan for security of all the mosques, Eidgahs and imambarghs and deploy police force for the security of Eid congregations. While presiding over a high level meeting, of all the senior police officers of the district police, held in his office here near Islamia College Civil Lines on Sunday, the DIG revealed at least 77 SHOs, 750 officials of QRF, 50 vehicles of Mobile Squads and 25 DSPs would discharge their duties under the supervision of 10 SPs across the City. Rao Sardar Ali further directed the SHOs to arrange a list of volunteers to be deployed along with police officials for security of the mosques, Eidgahs and imambarghas during Eid prayers. Temporary protection walls or wires should be installed around the public place selected for Eid congregations and only one entry and exit point should be made to eliminate chances of any act or terrorism, he remarked. He said all the security personnel should be provided with metal detectors and walk-through gates should be installed at places for big congregations. The DIG also directed to start preparations for security plan for Muharram, hold meeting with organisers of the Majalis and mourning processions and convince them to implement code of conduct with high spirit.
