MINGORA - Security forces on Saturday night killed 8 militants in a nightlong battle in Shokhdara Chuprial in the suburb of Matta, district Swat. According to military sources, security forces were patrolling in Shokdara area of Chuprial in Routein where some armed militants opened indiscriminate firing on them. As a result one security man got injured. In reply security forces launched search operation in the area against the suspected militants where a curfew has been imposed. Security forces made announcement through the local mosques loudspeaker and asked the people not move outside from their homes. During the search security forces managed to find the hideout of militants in a hilly area where they received heavy resistance from them and fought with a group of armed militants almost for the whole night and as a result killed 8 militants identified as Ghafoor Rehman, Naseebullah, Muhammad Ali, Ibrahim, Inayatullah, Jamal, Azim and imtiaz. Weapons were recovered from these terrorists. Although it was the most dangerous and first grouped terrorist attack of the militants after the Swat operation, security forces were in the view that some militants were present in the area. So they imposed curfew on Sunday in search of militants. Meanwhile security forces have recovered 2 bombs and other weapons from a cave in Dheragai area of Koza Bandai, district Swat. Security forces got the information that some militants had hidden weapons in a cave from where security forces and bomb disposal squad recovered two pressure cook-er bombs, one riffle, 1,000 bullets and cable wire used in making of electronic bombs.
