KARACHI - Eight people died in separate incidents of violence and mishaps here in different parts of the metropolis on Sunday. According to details, four-year-old Asghar Ali son of Ali Mehdi was gunned down in his house due to the firing of a bandit in Omar Goth within the limits of Manghopir Police Station. He was playing in his house situated at Omar Goth Manghopir when three armed persons barged into his house and made his family hostage. During the incident, the victims mother shouted to get help. On this a bandit opened fire and resultantly Asghar sustained bullet injury. Police shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Separately police found a body in Northern Bypass Saeedabad in the limits of Maripur Police Station. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Rashid Panjgori son of Jummah Khan. He hailed from Panjgor, Balochistan, and used to work in factory situated at Hub Choki. Meanwhile, a security guard was gunned down accidentally near Babar Kanta Landhi in the jurisdiction of Sharafi Goth Police Station. Police said that the victim 25-year-old Kashif son of Saleem, resident of Bhutto Nagar Landhi 89, was performing duty in a private factory situated at Landhi. He mistakenly sustained bullet injury of his own rifle and died on the spot. Police shifted his body to JPMC and later handed over to his heirs after completing the medico-legal formalities. Victim hailed from Punjab and he was unmarried. In another incident, two men were crushed to death at Link Road, National Highway, in the limits of Steel Town Police Station. The deceased were later identified as Muhammad Rafi son of Muhammad Hussain and Akram son of Muhammad Shafi. They were on their way to home in a van bearing registration No. ATJ-742 when a speedy trawler bearing registration No. TLB-219 hit them. Resultantly both sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. Police impounded the trawler and arrested the driver. Police sifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and later moved to mortuary. No case was registered till filling of this report. Similarly, a car overturned on Super Highway leaving one dead and two others including a woman injured in the limits of Gaddap City Police Station. According to police, the deceased was identified as Abdullah, 32, son of Ali Muhammad while the injured included Shazia, 50, Murtaza, 12. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died at ICI Bridge within the limits of Jackson Police Station. Police said that deceased Muhammad Asif, 32, son of Muhammad Ali, resident of Massan Chowk Keamari, was on his way to home. When he reached ICI Bridge, he could not control the balance and fell down from the bridge, resultantly he sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) and later handed over to the family. Separately, a man was crushed to death near Football Ground in the limits of Jackson Police Station. The victim was identified as Rashid son of Shahnawaz. He was resident of West wharf. He was standing near the Football Ground when a speedy vehicle hit him, resultantly he died on the spot. Police shifted his body to CHK where his family took away the body without completing any legal formalities.
