LAHORE – Divisional Public School (DPS) clinched the 5th Inter Schools, Colleges Games 2012 title with overall 749 points and was awarded winners trophy at the concluding ceremony held at Railway Stadium on Wednesday.

Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) chief Gen (retd) Arif Hassan and PbOA chief Syed Shahid Ali Shah were chief guests and PbOA secretary Idris Haider Kh, organising secretary Tania Malik, Waqar Ali, Ch Rizwan, Salman Butt and other sports related personalities were also present.

In school boys’, Don Bosco Urdu Medium claimed the first position with 155 points, LGS Paragon was second with 150 points while DPS earned third position gaining 134 points. Superior College clinched the first position in the College boys’ category with 190 points while Aitcheson grabbed second potion with 150 points and Govt Islamia College Railway Road got third position with 145 points.

In school girls’ category, Adabistan-e-Sofia got first position with 542 points, Sacred Heart was second with 297 points while Beaconhouse Gulberg third with 216 points. LGS 55 Main Gulberg claimed the first position in the college girls’ category with 204 points. Kinnaird won second position with 200 points and Govt College University earned the third position with 193 points. LGS 55 Main Gulberg also won the best march past trophy while DPS and Sanjan Nagar School secured second and third positions respectively.

At the last day of the Games, netball and rugby competitions were also held. In netball school girls’, LGS 55 Main Gulberg played superb game and clinched the first position while Beaconhouse Liberty and LGS Model Town got second and third positions.

The netball college girls’ event was won by Lahore College for Women University while LGS 55 Main Gulberg earned second position and Beaconhouse Liberty was third. In rugby school boy’s event, GHSS Jallo Mor won the final while Garrison College won the college boys’ category.
