SWABI – The Project Topi, a students-run welfare organization at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Science and Technology, in association with the Study Aid Foundation for Excellence (SAFE) Pakistan on Wednesday organized an academic talent award show for top students from the Government High Schools of Topi and Hamlet and GIKI School.

About 72 position holders in their respective classes were given shields. On this occasion the Vice President Liaison - Project Topi, Ovais Abowath, highlighted that schooling was the fundamental domain of Project Topi and schooling volunteers were regularly going to both Topi High and Hamlet schools.

Dr. Tariq Saeed, Advisor Project Topi, emphasized on the importance of studies and how Islam promotes education.

“The first word revealed to prophet was IQRA which means read,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Fazal A Khalid (SI), Pro Rector (Academics) GIKI, congratulated both Project Topi and SAFE for organizing this event. He stressed the need for education and especially for women. Sohail Ahmed, President SAFE KPK chapter, on the occasion, asked the students to follow the example of notable scientists like Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan and Samar Mubarak Mand. He also mentioned the major role SAFE is playing for the uplift of education in Pakistan.
