FAISALABAD - Lack of expertise in English language is main hurdle to bear fruit of modern knowledge and transform it into goods and services as all information across the globe is coming in this language, said speakers at the inaugural session of a series of Transforming English Language Skills workshop at the Government College University Faisalabad.

The speakers stressed immediate steps to polish English language skills especially in students and teachers. The workshop focusing professional development for teaching through the medium of English was arranged by Department of Chemistry, Government College University Faisalabad in collaboration with British Council and Higher Education Commission.    

The series of workshops are being held on the directions of GCUF Vice Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain to further improve quality of education, enhance professional skills and move the university to the new heights.

The inaugural session was chaired by GCUF Faulty of Management and Administrative Sciences Dean Prof Dr Shahbaz Arif while Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Dean Prof Dr Pervez Azeem, Chemistry Department Chairman Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain Bukhari and BC and HEC Master Trainer Shahid Adeel also spoke on the occasion Dr Shahbaz Arif stressed the teaching community to polish English communication skills of the students not only in their writing but also in the listening and speaking. 

He advised teaching community to follow good pronunciation; avoid using difficult words and make it easily understandable for the students.
