Eight persons including five women and minor boy were killed in different incidents of honour killing, enmity and mishaps over the past 48 hours.

According to details, in Kasur, Muhammad Arif shot dead his wife Tasleem, mother of five children, over her attempts to refrain him from immoral activities in village Kaly Autaar in the limits of Khuddian Khas Police. The police have registered a case and started investigation. In another incident, the bullet-riddled body of an unidentified woman was found near Naul village. The police are investigating.

In Jhang, a man was killed in collision between a motorcycle and donkey-cart in Mandi Shah Jewna. Reportedly, two brothers - Akram and Ashraf, residents of Mauza Alipur were on the way to Mandi Shah Jewna on a bike. As they reached near the Mandi, the motorcycle collided with a donkey-cart coming from the opposite direction due to speed.

Resultantly Akram succumbed to his injuries on the spot while Ashraf was rushed to DHQ Hospital.

In another mishap, a man gunned down his sister for honour. According to available reports, Sajid, son of Muhammad Khan, a resident of Mauza Dheraj suspected that his sister 22-year-old Sumera Bibi had developed illicit relations with someone of the same village. Annoyed with his sister, he opened indiscriminate firing, killing her on the spot and managed to escape from the scene. The Jhang Saddr Police registered a case against accused.

In Toba Tek Singh, Rehana Bibi, wife of Allah Ditta Masih, a resident of Chak 316/JB Gojra committed suicide by taking poison after her husband tortured her sverely. She was shifted to THQ Hospital where she died. In Kamalia’s Sheikh Burhan locality, one Mustafa took poison and died when his wife Shahnaz refused to reconcile with him at his in-laws house.

Meanwhile, a shop owner attempted to self-immolate in Kalma Chowk at Kamalia. Abbas’s shop was looted few days ago and he was protesting over refusal of Kamalia Saddr Police for registering a case. He sprayed a bottle of petrol but ended his protest when DSP Malik Osman assured him that a case will be registered.

Meanwhile, in Ahmedpur East, a woman and her minor son were killed while five others including women and kids were injured when a Karachi-bound speeding trailer hit parked passenger van at Chanigoth Chakar.

According to details, Mst Lal Bibi along with her minor son Saqlain Abbas and three-year-son Hassan Shah were going back to Khanbela after meeting her relatives in Chanigoth.

She boarded a passenger van but unluckily a speeding trailer swerved and fell on the van, killing the woman and her son Saqlain instantly while her other son Hassan Shah and four other passengers including Anwar, a resident of Dir, Iqbal, a resident of Khanbela, Ramzan, a resident of Jehanian and Shahnaz Bibi, a resident of Tranda Muhammad Panah sustained injuries. They were shifted to Chanigoth and Liaquatpur hospitals. The Chanigoth Police have registered a case of the incident.
