LAHORE - A six-year-old boy, an accused of molesting a woman, has been acquitted from the charges by an Additional district and Sessions judge.

Additional district and sessions judge Naveed Iqbal on Friday acquitted Husnain, a minor in the eyes of law, from the charges of assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty. The judge held that that the Section 82 of the PPC restricted nomination of a child, under the age of seven, against any offence.

After the acquittal, the judge directed the investigation officer to cancel the FIR registered against him and submit a report before the judicial magistrate concerned.

On November 12, Shalimar police had registered an FIR 808/14 under section 354 of PPC against Hassan and his brother Husnain on the complaint of Nadia Akhtar. The complainant alleged that the suspects attacked her with an iron rod and attempted to molest her. Hassan had already obtained pre arrest bail in the case.

On Friday, Husnain appeared before the court accompanied by his counsel, Advocate Mian Kashif, and sought a pre-arrest bail but the court set him free.
