All-out efforts are being made to provide financial assistance to the flood affectees in a transparent manner, declared Punjab Labour and Manpower Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.

He was speaking during his to Pindi Bhattian where he reviewed distribution of financial aid to 10,572 flood affectees in the area. He said that no deserving person would be deprived of financial assistance. He said that a total amount of Rs500 million was being distributed among the affectees in the second phase while in the first phase Rs110 million had already been distributed. He said that committees at district and tehsil level had been constituted to redress the complaints of left-out affectees, if any, and orders had been issued that no one should be deprived of his due right.

Addressing a gathering, he appreciated the media during the flood and stressed upon media and general public to play their vital role in the development of the country.

He lashed out at those who were responsible for the postponement of visit of time-tested and sincere President of China and questioned the patriotism of those who were indulging negative politics for creating hurdlers in the progress and prosperity of the nation. He said that due to negative policies of dharna-walas the foreign investments in the energy sector has been delayed by four months which has inflicted colossal loss on the nation and the nation would not forgive of their follies.

He pointed that China was our eternal and sincere friend and it had promised 42 billion dollar investment in Pakistan which would usher in new era of prosperity in the country. The Minister directed the district administration that the affectees should be facilitated to get the financial assistance promptly.

Prominent among those who were present at the occasion included MNA Mian Shahid Hussain Bhatti, MPA Ch Asadullah Arian, DCO Muhammad Usman, Assistant Commissioner Pindi Bhattian Sarosh Fatima and In-charge Relief Muhammad Nawaz Gohar.

Earlier, the DCO briefed the visiting Minister and told him that during the second phase Pay Orders of Rs500 million were being distributed among 10,572 affectees in the district and all-out efforts were being made to ensure transparency according to the set formula of the Punjab Government.
