ISLAMABAD - Islamabad required further 121 runs for victory against Port Qasim in their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold sixth round match here at Diamond Cricket ground on Friday.

Requiring 325 runs for win, Islamabad finished the day at 204-4 in 54 overs. Sarmad Bahtti was unbeaten at 79 while M Irfan was also unbeaten at 59. Abdur Ruf took 2-45. Earlier, Port Qasim resumed their second innings at the overnight score of 247-8 in 58.3 overs and were all out for 312 in 84.5 overs. Khalid Latif made 92. Shehzad took 4-102, Imad Wasim 3-23 and Hamza 2-74.

At Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi were in trouble against Wapda as they lost two wickets for 19 in five overs, needing further 190 runs for win with eight wickets in hand.

Earlier, Rawalpindi resumed their first innings at overnight score of 256-6 in 73 overs and were all set to take healthy first-innings lead, but a batting collapse restricted them to 270 all out in 80.5 overs, thus conceded 46 runs first innings lead. Azhar and Waqas took three wickets each while Ali Bhutta got 2-67. Wapda’s second innings was folded at 162 in 58 overs. Rizwan took 4-49 and Rashid 3-38.
