Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif asserted on Friday that the dharnas walas were rather busy with their musical gatherings instead of coming forward to mitigate sufferings of the flood affected people.

Sit-ins prompted cancellation of Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan that adversely affected economy of the country, the Punjab CM regretted while a addressing the flood-affected people here at Bhawana High School on Friday.

Shahbaz Sharif claimed that Imran Khan had attempted to befool the 180 million people and uttered lies on daily basis. He further stated that agricultural development was not feasible without electricity.

He informed that the disbursement of second instalment under Khadim-e-Punjab relief Package had begun since November 10, asking the flood affectees must not worry as the government resolve all their problems and help them stand on their feet again.

He declared that Rs600 million was being distributed to the flood affected people of Chiniot which suffered the worst flood, adding that Rs 16 billion would be distributed across Punjab.

The Punjab chief minister reiterated his resolve keep visiting the flood affectees until they were rehabilitated.

Shahbaz Sharif also commended the efforts of Pakistan army, navy, rescue teams and local administration for effectively catering people affected by flood.

He was of the view that rescue and civil administration played vital role in addressing the needs of flood-hit people.
