MULTAN- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday took notice of dropping of Javed Hashmi’s election leaflets from a helicopter in Multan where stage is set for Thursday’s by-election.

Earlier, media captured a helicopter dropping the leaflets bearing the photo of Hashmi who is contesting the by-polls for a National Assembly constituency, NA-149 Multan II, vacated by him. Describing the dropping of leaflets as violation of ‘code of conduct’, ECP officials said they have taken notice of the publicity campaign after watching the news report on TV. He said the ECP could decide about taking action the candidate, adding that one could be disqualified over violation of the law.
