Islamabad- On the orders of interior ministry, capital authorities started removing today, the containers placed in the city to block roads for security of anti-government protesters.

On October 14, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan ordered the removal of containers from all roads in the federal capital except the ones on Constitution Avenue. In a directive to the Islamabad administration, the interior minister had said steps should be taken to improve traffic flow in the city.

The containers were placed for security of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) demonstrators who started protests in the capital on August 15.

Containers at PTV Chowk and outside the Pak Secretariat were removed today, while officials are working to remove other remaining containers. Containers which were placed outside the PM House have also been removed.
