KARACHI - Experiencing the cuisine and culture of different peoples is a fantastic way of fostering harmony and peace.

This was said by US Consulate Community Liaison Officer Ms.Adriana Murakami, at the informal inauguration of Journey Through Europe Food Festival organized by Pearl Continental Karachi last evening. She was the chief guest at the event.

Ms. Murakami, said she found Karachi a vibrant city but she was sometimes taken aback about the misapprehensions the people had here about the United States. She added meeting people from different walks of life and holding dialogue and inter-active sessions should help understand each other’s viewpoints and reduce their differences. US Consulate Public Affairs Officer Mr.Kevin T. Murakami said he found Karachi to be a lively city. German Consul & Deputy Head of Mission Consulate General of Germany Rolf Traut said he was posted to Karachi only three months earlier  and he was learning many new things as this was his first posting to a South Asian country.

General Manager of Pearl Continental Karachi Azeem Quraishi speaking on the occasion said a European Food Festival would be held every Friday and Saturday from 7.30pm at the Marco Polo restaurant, starting April 13th for eight weeks.

He added that the Pearl Continental Karachi has made special arrangements for Karachites to savor delectable European cuisines in an extraordinary ambiance and have an unforgettable experience. He asked food lovers not to miss out on this special festival.
