Every year in winter people are promised an end to their misery and loadshedding, and then every year in summer they have a bigger excuse for not doing so. This year too the government has brought in great ideas to save electricity. Among many of their unfathomable ideas, one is to ask the commercial sector to shut down their business during their peak hours. The others include displaying a unique sense of equality and distributing the burden equally among the provinces. But this by no means is a solution to the larger problem. These are temporary solutions. It is time the government thought over better solutions like making dams which will not only help solve the energy crisis but will also help prevent destruction caused by floods every year.
