ISLAMABAD - Apparently to appease Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl(JUI-F) leadership, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ordered appointment of Ziaur Rehman, younger brother of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, as Commissioner Afghan Refugees.

Currently Ziaur Rehman is working as District Coordination Officer (DCO) Khushab in grade 18 while he was appointed against the slot of Grade 20 which is in sheer violation of the rules and regulations, a source in the Establishment Division informed. Sources aware of the developments taking place on this front informed The Nation that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had taken up the matter of giving some important assignment to his younger brother with the Prime Minister several times in the recent past but the latter had not obliged.

But now when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif landed in deep trouble after the revelations in Panama leaks, the JUI-F chief instead of criticising the government has taken soft position against the Sharif family and avoided some hard hitting criticism on the Premier. So in return Prime Minister obliged JUI-F chief by appointing his younger brother serving in Grade 18 against a priced post of Commissioner Afghan Reguees in Grade 20, informed a source in the government.
