SIALKOT - Dr Sarfraz Bashier, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), on Friday said that three projects - Business and Commerce Center, Sialkot Tannery Zone and Sports Industry Development Center - would be completed within a year.

He expressed these views during an exclusive interview with APP. Business and Commerce Center, he said, is a unique project for the business community of Sialkot and it would be completed in collaboration with SMEDA and the Punjab government to promote business activities in Sialkot. He said that Ahsan Iqbal, federal minister for Planning and Development, showed keen interest to constitute Business and Commerce Center (BCC) under the umbrella of SCCI.

He said that BCC had offices, display offices, exhibition hall, conference rooms and foreign customers could stay in it. About Sialkot Tannery Zone (STZ), the SCCI president said, is aimed to gather tanneries at one place.

He said that STZ would have water treatment facility which was essential for tanneries to purify waste water.

Dr Sarfraz said that land had been acquired near Sialkot airport where land development charges would be paid by the industrialist.

He said the Punjab government and the United Nations were supporting the SCCI for the project.

Sports Industry and Development Center (SIDC), he said, has been working on a trial basis but actively started its production within a year.

He said that SIDC would introduce world standard thermo lamented football according to the need of international market.

He said that it was a common facility center for all exporters where they could manufacture their demands as per international standards.

He said that SIDC would be equipped with modern machinery as per needs of exporters.
