LAHORE - A writ petition was on Tuesday filed in the Lahore High Court to summon former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and PPP Information Secretary Fouzia Wahab in the court and explain their contradictory statements on the issue of diplomatic immunity to Raymond Davis. Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique filed the petition. He pleaded that Mr Qureshi had publicly said that Davis did not enjoy diplomatic immunity while Fouiza Wahab held a different view. American Ambassador in Pakistan and the its Counselor in Lahore have categorically declared that the person arrested as Rymond Davis is not Rymond Davis. A fake person has no right to claim diplomatic immunity under the Vienna Convention or any other relevant law, the petitioner stated in his plea. Azhar further said that Raymond Davis should not be released from custody or handed over to the US until it is decided by the courts whether he has diplomatic immunity or not. He also requested the court to pass an order to try Davis for deliberate murders of Pakistanis. But the petitioner apprehended that record on Davis status with the Foreign Office was being illegally removed to the Interior Ministry to temper with. He prayed: The same should be sent back to the Foreign Office and its copies should be made part of the court record. MOTHERS GET MINORS: District and Sessions Court on Tuesday handed over three minors to their mother after recovering them from the illegal custody of father. Aalia Musa, a resident of Chaungi Amrsidhu had filed a habeas corpus petition in the court alleging that her husband Shahbaz had detained her three children. She implored the court for the recovery of her children as on petitioners plea the court served a notice to Shahbaz and directed him to produce the children before the court. Responding to the court orders Shahbaz appeared before the court and produced all three minors where they were handed over to their mother.
