ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned the 29th session of the National Assembly on February 21 at 05:00 p.m. The President has summoned the National Assembly Session in exercise of powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It would be the last session of the National Assembly during the current parliamentary year with which the third parliamentary year of the National Assembly would be completed. Sources in the Parliament informed The Nation that besides taking up host of issues including the arrest of US citizen Raymond Davis on the charges of double murder, overall law and security situation of country, curbing inflation, economic issues with special reference to the Reform General Sales Tax (RGST) and the much controversial National Accountability Commission (NAC) Bill are likely to be tabled before the National Assembly for approval. The sources in the government informed that all the recommendations regarding the NAC Bill were incorporated in the draft bill for new accountability mechanism and the same would be given to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice and would finally be tabled before the house for approval during the upcoming session of the National Assembly.
