ISLAMABAD(Online) - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani underlining that Islam fully rejects terrorism and extremism said that those who invoke religion to justify their heinous and reprehensible acts of terrorism have nothing to do with the Muslims and Islam. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed these views during their separate messages on 12th Rabi ul Awwal - Eid Milad un Nabi falling on Wednesday (today). President in his message said I greet every one particularly the Muslims on the auspicious birthday of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) today. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a source of blessing for the entire humanity and his message of love, tolerance and compassion is also for the entire humanity and can neither be compartmentalised nor restricted, he said. The need for imbibing the true message of tolerance and understanding preached and practiced by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has never been as great as it is today, he added. As the benefactor of entire mankind, Holy Prophet (PBUH) teachings cannot be monopolised by any one to the exclusion of others nor can any one put exclusive interpretations on it, he said. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was sent by Allah Almighty to the entire mankind and that was why homage is paid to Him everywhere and at all times, the President said. On this occasion, I urge the people to imbibe the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) of peace, love and compassion as the guiding principles of their lives and pray to Allah Almighty, he said. On the other hand, Gilani said the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a witness to the fact that He is paragon of mercy and love and He is the one who introduced humanity to a faith which is a complete code of life till the Day of Judgment. The entire life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the beacon of guidance and he is no doubt a living representation of the Holy Quran and Islam, PM stressed. The literal meaning of word Islam is peace and security. Humanity is the centre of Islamic teachings and Islam can rightly be credited with being a guarantor of mans welfare in this world and hereafter, he said. PM said among the issues being faced by the Muslims around the globe, terrorism and extremism figure prominently. 'If these issues are analysed in the light of Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH),it becomes clear that terrorism and extremism have nothing to do with the teachings given by the Holy Prophet(PBUH), he added. Rather these misguided individuals are violative of what Islam stands for and espouses. A peaceful religion such as Islam fully rejects terrorism and extremism, he said. Gilani further said that the entire life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) bears testimony to the fact that Islam guarantees shelter and protection for the entire humanity. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) chronicled a new chapter of reconciliation by forgiving his worst enemies in an age which was known for revenge and vendetta, he said. He even went to the extent of praying for guidance of his enemies, he added. Therefore, it is not possible that a true follower of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) resorts to killing and bloodshed in the name of religion, he said. It is a matter of immense satisfaction that the entire Islamic world has condemned terrorism collectively and reminded the civilised world that those who invoke religion to justify their heinous and reprehensible acts of terrorism have nothing to do with the Muslims and Islam, he added.
