LAHORE A man, having already suffered much at the hands of the Bahawalpur Region police, was quieted by the IG office too. He wanted to submit an application for change of investigation. Manzoor Ahmed, 52, a resident of 11-BC, was told by the security personnel, deployed outside the office, the time to meet the top cop was over. The victim, whose maternal nephew was kidnapped for Rs4 million ransom some 17 months ago, said: I wanted to meet Additional Inspector General (Investigation) Azam Joiya for change of investigation. The 20-year-old Amjad Ali was kidnapped by six accused including Munawar Ali, Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Saleem, Imran, and Akbar, and another unidentified kidnapper. A case (355/09) was also lodged against the accused in Samma Satta Police Station and the police also arrested four of the six accused besides recovering the abducted boy. He demanded the arrest of Munawar Ali, and Manzoor, the tow main culprits. According to the victim, Munawar is a notorious car lifter and is wanted in more than five cases by the Layyah and Bahawalpur police. The accused have secured their pre-arrest protective bails, it may be noted. The victim family claims to have visited SHO Iqbal, DSP Saddar Zahoor Rabbani, SP (Investigation) Javed Iqbal Nadir and RPO Bahawalpur Abid Qadri for more than 12 times. But every time we have returned empty handed. Abid Qadri even directed SP and DSP to personally solve the issue.
