The oldest resident of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Haji Yousafuddin Butt died at the age of 112 after prolong illness in his native town of Ghazian in Kotli district the other night, his family announced.

Born in 1902 in Rajouri district of occupied Kashmir, late Butt sahib, the former resident of Rajouri district of Occupied Kashmir, had migrated to Azad Jammu & Kashmir in 1947 at the advent of the Kashmir liberation movement and settled in Ghaziayan town in Kotli district.

He was shifted to hospital in Islamabad after he suffered breathing problem the other day where doctors declared his recovery as out of their reach due to severeness of the disease. He was brought to back to his existing residential abode - the Ghaziayan town where he breathed his lost.

The elderly late Yousafuddin Butt was the paternal uncle of eminent Kashmiri journalist Rana Shabir Rajourvi, the Resident Editor of a local urdu daily appearing from Muzaffarabad. He left dozens of his grandsons and granddaughters, great grandsons and great granddaughters besides four sons including Abdul Hamid Butt, Talib Hussain Butt, Muhammad Hanif Butt and Muhammad Nadeem Butt.

According to his last will, he was laid to rest in Ghazian town of Kotli district last night in presence of hundreds of mourners including his blood relations hailing from his native district Rajouri in Indian occupied Kashmir.
