KARACHI - Aided by fine 153 from opener Ahmed Shahzad, Habib Bank posted huge first innings total in first innings against Sui Southern Gas on the second day of the four-day fourth round match of the RBS-sponsored Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match here Thursday at Quaid-e-Azam Park ground. Habib , Bank resuming at overnight total of 247 for two wickets, posted 501 all out with Ahmed Shahzad making a major contribution to the grand total. He was unbeaten 122 overnight and was finally out after adding 31 runs to his total. He was stumped by keeper Zeeshan off Adnan after staying at the wicket for 409 minutes. In his 317 ball innings he hit eleven fours. At the close of the second day's play, Sui Southern Gas had replied with 21 for the loss of opener Imran Abbas. Replying to Peshawar innings of 290, host Karachi Blues posted 205 for five at the close of the day's play with Sherheryar Ghani making highest 78 runs contribution to the team's total. Peshawar which had scored 261 for five wickets at the close of first day's play added mere 29 runs more to the total with remaining five wickets. Karachi pacer Abdul Ameer took three wickets giving away fifteen runs in the morning. He finished the innings with five for 74.
