BAHAWALNAGAR -The Food Department officials raided 1,700 places, registered 37 cases and sealed 120 hotels and other food outlets during the campaign against adulteration and sale of unhygienic and substandard food in the district. The officials also realised more than Rs2 million in the head of fine during the past three months. According to the figures obtained by this correspondent, three teams are taking part in the campaign. One team comprising EDO Health Dr Abdul Razzaq and DO Health Dr Saghir Ch raided more than 400 places, sealed 45 hotels, bakeries, ice factories etc and collected Rs 0.9 million fine. Another team headed by Assistant Commissioner Ms Humaira Irshad raided more than 900 places, sealed 60 places and collected Rs0.6 million fine besides registration of 16 cases against violators of food bylaws. The third team headed by District Food Controller Fasial Sharif raided more than 300 places and collected Rs250,000 fine. DCO Azhar Hayat has reiterated the resolve to continue the campaign with full vigour.
