SIALKOT-As many as 3,000 out of total 3,600 private schools functional here are unregistered as Education Department remains unable to ensure early registration of these schools.

These schools are located in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils. Sialkot District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Aamir Raza said that the department's officials remained unable to ensure the early registration of the said 3000 private schools due to which the managements and owners of these private schools never bothered to get their private schools registered with the department.

He said that there were many complaints regarding the violation of rules and regulations by the private schools such as increasing fees, non-provision of prescribed facilities, health facilities, potable water, hiring of competent teachers and unavailability of playgrounds.

Addressing a meeting, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Asif Tufail ordered early registration of all the non-registered private schools in Sialkot district, advising the other registered private educational institutions to get their NOCs renewed by the department.

He said that the private educational institutions found not implementing prescribed rules and regulations would be sealed with immediate effect.

RAIN LASHES REGION: Widespread heavy rain lashed the entire Sialkot region for the second consecutive day. It rained 46mm in Sialkot.

Heavy rain followed by dust storm began early in the morning, which remained continued for the whole day intermittently. The heavy rain inundated all the low-lying urban and rural areas in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils.

As a result, all the civic, business and trade activities remained paralysed as almost all the bazaars presented a look of canal or stream due to rainy and even sewerage water. It remained dark cloudy with the loud thunder of clouds. The cold winds also blew, which made the weather much pleasant.

The people warmly welcomed the most awaited rain as they came out in streets and on roads to enjoy the heavy rain.
