LAHORE - The Lahore High Court yesterday issued notice to Railways Minister Kh Saad Rafiq and other officials to submit reply in a petition filed by Royal Palm Golf and Country Club’s management seeking contempt of court proceedings against the authorities for not complying with previous court’s order.

Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza heard the case and issued the notice to the respondents.

During the hearing, Barrister Ali Zafar appeared before the court on behalf of the club’s management and submitted that the PR authorities had been committing contempt of court by not de-sealing administrative block of the club. He said that the Railways police were deployed there in violation of court’s orders.

He prayed to the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents for not following the court’s orders.

On July 4, the LHC gave interim relief to the club’s management and allowed them to take back the administrative control of the club but not to disturb the possession of Pakistan Railways.
