GUJRAT-Students, seeking admission in Punjab's medical and dental colleges were urged at an orientation seminar to be prepare as evaluation test for the purpose will be held on August 28.

The seminar titled "Entrance Test 2016 for Admission in All Public and Private Medical and Dental Institutions of Punjab" was held at Nawaz Sharif Medical College (NSMC) here at Hafiz Hayat Campus of the University of Gujrat (UoG).

A large number of students along with their parents participated in the seminar which was organised by the University of Health Sciences (UHS). Dr Saqib Mahmood, UHS focal person, briefed the students about admission procedure and provided them with important guidelines for appearing in the entrance test.

He told the students that admission forms would be available at the designated branches of Bank Islami from July 18, till August 8, 2016. The syllabus for the entrance test is available at the UHS website: He advised the students to visit the UHS website to get a feel of the course format.

The UHS has been assigned the task by the Punjab government to conduct the entrance tests for admission to medical and dental colleges in the province. Thousands of students will be vying for 3,022 open-merit seats for MBBS admission and 175 BDS seats reserved this year. The admission process for the MBBS/BDS session 2016-17 will be completed in Sep-Oct and the merit lists will be displayed on October 28. The academic year of the MBBS course will begin on November 14 and the BDS classes will commence on December 14, 2016.
