LAHORE Commissioner Lahore Division Nadeem Hassan Asif has banned all activities and ceremonies at playgrounds of the provincial metropolis including marriage ceremonies, family functions and processions or rallies. He issued such directions while presiding over a meeting of Divisional Sports Committee, held here on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by DCO Ahad Cheema, Additional Commissioner Usman Anwar, MPA Kh Imran Nazir, Chief Protocol Officer Sh. Fareed Ahmad and representatives of local and multinational companies. Addressing the meeting the Commissioner directed to construct and develop surrounding roads and areas of such play grounds for making the environment attractive. He said that only the locals of concerned areas could participate in sports activities while expert coaches would provide their service free of cost for sports trainings. The commissioner also briefed the representatives of such private companies about 116 playground sites, situated in city. The commissioner said that according to CMs vision, facilities of all type of sports including cricket, hocky, badminton, football, weightlifting, gymnastic etc would be provided to the people besides constructing a jogging track for ladies only at a separate site, which could also be used for holding functions and ceremonies.
