OUR STAFF REPORTER KARACHI - The Karachi stock market continued to remain in the grip of bears on Wednesday amid lack of interest from foreign investors. The Karachi Stock Exchanges 100-share index lost 20.79 points or 0.17 per cent to close at 12,317.15 points on the market turnover of 54.81 million shares. The KSE market capitalization stood at Rs3,256.22 billion or $37.92 billion while the trading value was recorded at Rs1.81 billion or $21.07 million. The KSE 30-share index declined by 28.93 points or 0.25 per cent to close at 11,778.40 points. The KSE future value was recorded at 3.12 million shares, valuing at Rs353.40 million. The KSE future spread rate was maintained at 9.89 per cent. Negative close was witnessed with thin volumes. Limited local and foreign interest and uncertainty in global capital and commodity markets played a catalyst role in bearish sentiment at KSE, said Ahsan Mehanti, Director at Arif Habib Investments Limited. Developments on Pak-US strategic relationship failed to change the bearish sentiment at KSE on Wednesday, he said.
