LAHORE Young Doctors Associations (YDAs) have announced to resume duties at Out Patients Departments (OPDs) at public sector hospitals from Thursday (today) after the release of medics arrested from Quetta for holding protest against the provincial government. Scores of medics were injured while over 40 were arrested in Quetta on Tuesday for protesting in support of their demands of increase in salary package and revision in service structure on the pattern of other federating units. The YDAs announced to close down OPDs at major public sector hospitals for indefinite period from Wednesday to express solidarity with medics in Balochistan and protest against use of brute force against protesters in Quetta. However, after the release of arrested medics, the YDAs called off strike and announced to resume duties at OPDs on Thursday.
