ISLAMABAD - Top seed Farhan Mehboob and Yasir will meet in the final of the JSIL President, Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) International Squash Championship on Friday, as they defeated their respective challengers in the semi-finals at Jansher Khan Squash Complex, Abbottabad on Thursday. The final will be played today at the same venue. Air Chief Marshall, Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed, president PSF will grace the final as the chief guest to distribute the prizes, cash awards and shields amongst the players. In the first semi-final, Farhan Mehboob wasted only 29 minutes in the court to show exit to Majid Khan in straight games 3-0 to move in the final of the international squash competition. Left-handed Farhan played excellent squash to overcome his competitor with our conceding a single game of the match.  He finished the first two games in same style 11-6. Farhan, however, conceded only three additional points in the third game, which ended 11-9. The final score-line was 11-6, 11-6, and 11-9. Syed Ibrar Shah, Director, Abbottabad Development Authority (ADA), and Secretary, Abbottabad Squash Association (ASA) enjoyed the first semi-final as chief guest. Later on, in the second semi-final of the international squash showpiece, Yasir Butt outplayed teenager qualifier Waqar Mehboob 3-0 to set to clash with the Farhan Mehboob in the final of the championship today, loser Waqar is the younger brother of Farhan. Yasir Butt had to work hard in the court to overcome Waqar in the first game, which ended at tiebreak after a close contest but Yasir did not allow him to settle down, which finished at 11-6 and 11-9 in the favour of experienced Yasir Butt. The final score-line was 11-10, 11-6 and 11-9. Air vice Marshal, Asim Suleman, Senior vice President PSF graced the second semi-final as a chief guest, who was introduced to duo players before starting the match.
