Political parties should realize the fact that military dictator has no roots in public but politicians have to go in public from time to time for a vote and they have to be responsible and accountable for all that they ever did. The Q League, for instance, is paying the cost of supporting a military dictator. PPP, MQM and other parties would not want to be made another example of it. So they should not drift too far away from the aspirations of the public otherwise there will no difference between the democratic dispensation and a military rule. -NAILA SIDDIQUI, Karachi, via e-mail, April 29.
