KARACHI - Unidentified gunmen here Friday shot dead a PPP activist in Baldia Town while two dead bodies were recovered from separate places in the metropolis. Deceased Qamar Abbas alias Goji, president Sindh Peoples Youth of PS-90 in Sector 4-I, was returning to home after Friday prayers when unidentified gunmen targeted him. Saeedabad police said that armed men carrying opened fire on Goji at Sector 4-I, Nai Abadi Baldia Town and managed to flee. As a result, he sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Murshid Hospital, Hub River Road where he succumbed to his wounds. Tension had gripped the area following the assassination of Qamar Abbas alias Goji as PPP activists staged protest demonstration against law enforcing agencies. It is pertinent to mention here that on Thursday unknown culprits had buried alive, PPP-backed Awam Dost Panels general councillor in UC-8 Kemari Town, Abdul Ghafoor Soomro, in Mach Goth Graveyard after brutal torture. In another incident, 50-year-old Iqbal died the roof of his house, located in Siraj Colony, collapsed. Police said that the accident took place when the deceased was asleep. Meanwhile, a decomposed body was found from a house located in Machar Colony within the limits of Docks police station. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy. SHO Yousuf Baloch said the deceased, who was yet to be identified, had died almost 25 days ago under unknown conditions. Similarly, a two-day-old body of an elderly man was found from his house at Madina Colony within the limits of Khokhrapar police station. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities where he was identified as 70-year-old Ibrahim. Police said the deceased was living alone.
