Recently we read in your esteemed newspaper about the death penalty awarded to Imdad Ali, s/o Muhammad Ismail. We felt very sad at heart to learn that a person, suffering from a mental disorder, has been imprisoned and sentenced to death. No religion whatsoever would sentence such a person. He needs love, care and understanding. According to our opinion he should receive the treatment necessary for his mental health and be allowed to return to his family, who certainly love him very much. We are very sympathetic towards the members of his family. If such a person were a member of our families, how would we react?

We appeal to the President of Pakistan to cancel the death sentence and allow him to return to his family. We hope and pray that the Government will act upon our suggestion.
