Rawalpindi-Rawat police busted a racket involved in smuggling of kidneys yesterday. 

Police also recovered 20 men and 4 women from the custody of the gang while a case has also been registered against the gang members, informed a police spokesman.

According to him, a police team headed by ASI Aizaz on a tip-off conducted a raid in area of Rawat and held members of gang involved in kidney transplantation and smuggling. He said police also obtained release of 20 men and 4 women from the captivity of the gang members. He said a doctor of private hospital and his driver are also included in the gang busted by police.

CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi appreciated the efforts of raiding team and announced cash prizes for the team members, he said.
