LAHORE – The dead body of a seven-year-old boy, packed in a sports-bag, was recovered from the cricket ground in Samanabad area, police said on Monday.

Police investigators believed that unidentified killers strangled the boy, identified as Abdul Moiz of Nawab Town, packed his body into the sports bag and fled away after throwing it in the Dongi cricket ground in Samanabad police vicinity.

Police said that they rushed to the spot soon after the local residents contacted the police by phone and informed that a suspicious sports bag was lying in the cricket ground. “As the police opened the bag, they found the dead body of a seven-year-old old boy, wrapped in a piece of cloth and packed in it,” a police source said. There were no visible torture marks of the dead body and apparently it seemed that the deceased boy belonged to a well-off family.
