RAWALPINDI - The Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi imparted basic life support and fire safety orientation training to 940 police officials at Police College Sihala. 

The police officials have been trained through presentation, lectures, and practical station by trainers of Rescue 1122. The Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi has started such sessions in Sihala College since the service was established in Rawalpindi, informed Rescue 1122 spokesperson here on Monday.

The purpose of such training programme was to develop professional approach to first responders of different areas especially employees of emergency services like police.

, traffic etc, so that they could be helpful in case of any untoward incident. The training of 736 police officials has been conducted into two groups under supervision of Deeba Shahnaz Akhter, Emergency Officer Community Training.

The police officials have gone through the practical skills of cardio pulmonary resuscitation, wound management, fracture management and management of foreign body airway obstruction and first aid treatment in case of electric shock, snake bite, burn and drowning incidents. Deeba Shahnaz said that policemen deputed at different places could be first responder of any incident and disaster, if they people would be trained; they could better perform their duties at incident side with Rescue 1122 and other Emergency Services.
