LAHORE – Former Chairman National Reconstruction Bureau Danyal Aziz has stated that the local government elections before the general elections in the light of Supreme Court direction would go a long way to solve the problems of the masses particularly that of the Baloch.

Also head of Jeeway Pakistan Local Government Movement, Danyal has appreciated the Supreme Court decision for holding the LG polls and said their conduct was being delayed due to bureaucratic tactics when the fact was, the LG elections have to ensure rights of the people at the grass root level.

He said holding of local government elections was a constitution requirement and the Apex Court rightly came in the way to implement this constitutional provision. He said it was astonishing that political parties talk tall of democracy but they shirk to fulfill the basis democratic need that begins with the Local government elections. He said the LB polls would also address the deprivations of the Baloch people.
