LAHORE-The Lahore High Court Chief Justice on Monday issued notice to the Punjab Health Department Secretary on a petition seeking implementation of court directives to control dengue virus.

Petitioner’s lawyer submitted that the virus was spreading in the city while the Punjab government had not taken any effective step to curb the deadly virus as yet.

He pleaded that the fumigation curbing the dengue virus had also not been started by the authorities which could aggravate the situation in coming days. The court recorded the contentions of the petitioner and directed the health department to submit reply till April 26.

Meanwhile, Justice Umar Ata Bandial sought report from the health secretary on an application seeking directions to stop young doctors from observing strike in hospitals.
