LAHORE- PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has said that the country respected sovereignty and integrity of all the countries and in return expected the world to do the same.

While talking to Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Vincenzo Prati at Raiwind on Monday, Nawaz Sharif said that the nation demanded the world to treat it with respect and dignity. During the meeting both leaders discussed matters of bilateral interest, regional stability and international issues. While talking about Pakistan’s effort in eliminating terrorism, Nawaz Sharif said that the country had sacrificed most in the war against terrorism in which more than 36,000 security persons and civilians lost their lives.

He said that the war had caused the country acute economic crisis. Like other countries, he said, Pakistan also demanded economic stability, peace, prosperity and respect. He told the Italian Ambassador that his party gave precedence to justice and national interest adding that the country wanted strong relations with the world.

The Italian Ambassador said that the Italian government appreciated the PML-N efforts in promoting democracy and strengthening democratic institutions. The Ambassador said that Italy wanted to see Pakistan prosper and focused on better bilateral cooperation. He also commended the projects initiated by the Punjab government for the welfare of masses.
