MULTAN - The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Multan has announced the result of class 9th as 42 per cent candidates were declared successful. A total of 136360 candidates appeared in the examination out of which 57317 got through while 79043 failed. Similarly, as many as 115483 candidates appeared in the examination as regular candidates and 52420 got through, constituting 34.39 per cent success ratio. Only 4897 private candidates could pass the examination out of a total of 20877, showing a poor pass percentage of 23.45 per cent.

42 UMCS REGISTERED: The BISEM registered 42 Unfair Means Cases (UMCs) against candidates during the examination out of which as many as 35 were decided. The BISE Multan authorities disclosed that 29 students were found guilty and thus punished while seven cases were still under trial. Similarly, six others were let off because of lack of evidence.

SSC exams from Sep 25: Meanwhile, the board declared that the SSC Supplementary Examination, 2012 would commence from September 25.

target killings: Pakistan Sunni Tehreek District Convenor Maulana Munem Siddiqi condemned target killings of two PST activists in Karachi here. He and other PST leaders from Gojra included Hafiz Zahid, Amjad Sialvi and others warned that if the govt did not control  target killing , a countrywide protest movement would be launched against the government.
