LAHORE – Pir Syed Kabir Ali Shah Chura Sharif Sajjada Nasheen saying that Pakistan came into being on the eve of Lailatul Qadr has proposed to celebrate the Independence Day on Ramazan 27.

He expressed these views while addressing a programme titled ‘Independence Day of Pakistan’ held under the auspices of Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehrk-i-Pakistan on Thursday.

Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Chairman and TheNation Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami, Prof Zahoor Ahmad Azhar, Sahibzada Walid Ahmad Sharqpuri, Prof M A Sufi, Ch Zafarullah, Muhammad Shafi Josh, Prof Muzaffar Mirza, Mian Ghulam Jaffar and others were also present on the occasion. A large number of people form different walks of life attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Pir Syed Kabir said Pakistan came into existence on Ramazan 27 under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal who desired implementation of Islamic system in it, as implementation of the law of Allah Almighty in country was the only way that treats the rich and the poor alike.

Pir said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) presented a wonderful system for running an Islamic state, which establishes a fair justice system. He said the spiritual leaders stood shoulder to shoulder with the founding fathers of the nation and rendered countless sacrifices.

He said the rulers should mend their ways in the holy month and present themselves for accountability. The rulers, he said, should announce their assets on the day of independence.

Shah also paid rich tribute to Majid Nizami for his historic services for the cause of freedom of expression and for saying right word even before cruel rulers. Calling him as ‘star of journalism’, he said Nizami disseminated and promoted the two nation theory into the new generation.

He said enemies of the Muslim community were targeting each Muslim country one-by-one and advised the Muslims to get united at a platform to foil the evil designs of the enemies.
