ISLAMABAD - Adjourning the hearing of National Insurance Company Ltd (NICL) corruption case, the Supreme Court directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take legal action against those responsible for appointing the former head of NICL Ayaz Niazi on Thursday.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the NICL scam case.

Submitting report in pursuance of the court orders, FIA Director Legal, FIA Azam Khan apprised the bench that the authority has received a cheque for Rs 420 million, which he said had bounced.

However, he told the court that a case was registered against the defaulters.

Azam Khan further informed the bench that Mohsin Habib Warraich, one of the accused of the NICL scam has been blacklisted and would be arrested soon, adding, that no country in the world can issue a passport to Warraich now.
