SHEIKHUPURA - In order to regulate prices and stop adulteration in Sheikhupura and its adjoining villages, Assistant Commissioner Farwa Aamir conducted a raid at village Farooqabad and arrested dozens of shopkeepers.

The accused were selling stale or unhygienic meat, overcharging and committing adulteration. They were fined collectively Rs25,000. The step was taken after several complaints made by the area people. The lady AC warned the shopkeepers to avoid short measuring and weighing, adulteration, overcharging rather provide relief to the common man otherwise a strict action would be taken against them.  The AC also visited the markets of village Sacha Sauda, Railway Station area, City Farooqabad and village Farooqabad.

DACOITY: Armed men entered into a poultry farm and loaded chicken worth Rs1 million on trucks on gunpoint in the limit of Farooqabad police station. The poultry farm is owned by Sh Azam in Farooqabad city. The bandits tied up the staffers with rope and drove the trucks away.
