PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Higher Education, Qazi Muhammad Asad has said that the government is making all-out efforts to bring improvement to education sector in the province.

This he said while addressing a ceremony held in connection with distribution of cheques among students under Frontier Education Foundation Scholarship Scheme at FEF Office Peshawar.

The minister was the chief guest on the occasion.

Managing Director FEF Jamil Amjad in his welcome note highlighted steps taken by the Foundation with regard to providing services to the people in the field of education.

He informed that the Foundation has established 15 degree colleges for girls in various parts of the province.

He further informed that the Foundation has disbursed Rs 366 million as financial assistance for establishment of around 135 educational institutions in private sector.

The minister in his address highlighted various steps taken by the present government for the promotion of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He stated that the government has taken the allocation of education budget to a historical high of 4%; which is a unique achievement.

FEF Scholarship program for talented poor students is one of the achievements of the Government.

The Minister for Higher Education Department/ Vice Chairman Board of Directors appreciated the performance of Frontier Education Foundation and assured that some grant in aid will be provided to Frontier Education Foundation for expansion of FEF Scholarship Scheme.

Minister for Higher Education on this occasion distributed Cheques amongst Heads of Education Institutions like GIK Topi, Shaheed Beazir Bhutto Women University, IM Sciences Hayatabad, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, KUST Kohat, CECOS University, Sarhad University and others.
